The Chinese Challenge 2011 is a nationwide contest that showcases the finest in Chinese culture and language. The Chinese Challenge 2011 provides a participatory environment for Singaporeans to enjoy and improve their Mandarin and deepen their knowledge of Chinese culture through experiencing the finest in Chinese culture and language.
Quiz questions revolve around Chinese culture, heritage, pop culture and the Chinese language.
The Chinese Challenge aims to encourage Singaporeans and Permanent Residents to:
- deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture
- increase their level of proficiency in Mandarin

The Chinese Challenge 2011 is presented by the Promote Mandarin Council and supported by Asian Civilisations Museum, Besta DigiTech Pte Ltd and gistXL.

Who is eligible to take part in The Chinese Challenge 2011? |

All Singapore Citizen and Permanent Residents students aged 17 and below, and currently studying in a local primary school or secondary school, are eligible to participate in The Chinese Challenge. Please refer to the terms and conditions.

How does The Chinese Challenge 2011 work? |

The Chinese Challenge 2011 is a weekly online contest culminating in The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals, which will be broadcasted on television.
Weekly online quizzes will be held over 6 weeks continuously starting at 12pm Monday, 4 July 2011 and ending at 10pm Sunday, 14 August 2011. The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals will be broadcast on television on 4 September 2011.
Each week, a new set of 11 questions will be uploaded.
Participants accumulate points by answering the questions correctly. |

When can I take the weekly quizzes? |

Participants can access each week's quiz from 10am Monday to 10pm Sunday during the week.
Participants have one week (10am Monday - 10pm Sunday) to answer the questions and are able to change their answers at any time during the week by logging onto The Chinese Challenge 2011 website with their registered accounts.
Final Answers for each week must be submitted by 10pm every Sunday.
Participants will not be able to submit their Final Answers for the week after 10pm Sunday. |

How do I win? |

There are 2 ways to win:
1. 3 top-scoring winners will win attractive weekly prizes at the end of each week of the game.
2. Top-scoring participants from the entire 6 weeks will be invited to an audition by MediaCorp. 6 Finalists will then be selected to compete on the televised The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals for attractive prizes. |

How do I win the weekly prize? |

At the end of each week of The Chinese Challenge 2011, scores for the week will be tabulated to determine the 3 top-scoring winners. These 3 winners will win attractive prizes. In the event of a tie, a computerised lucky draw will be conducted to determine the eventual 3 top-scoring winners.

How will I know that I have won a weekly prize? |

Results will be announced on The Chinese Challenge 2011 website on the week after a weekly quiz has ended. |

How do I qualify for The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals? |

At the end of the 6-week online contest period, accumulated scores of all participants in their respective categories for the 6 weeks will be tabulated and the top-scoring participants will be invited to an audition at MediaCorp. 6 finalists from each Category will then be selected to compete in The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals. |

What if I miss taking part in the weekly quizzes for 1, 2, 3, etc. week(s)? |

You forfeit the chance to answer questions for the week you miss. However, you will still be eligible to win the weekly prizes at the end of the current week. And you will still be eligible for a chance to take part in The Chinese Challenge 2011 Grand Finals. |

Do I need to register to participate in the weekly quizzes? |

Yes. Participants must register and create a user account in The Chinese Challenge 2011 website before they can answer the quiz questions.
All participants are required to register for a user account using their NRIC number.
Participants are encouraged to provide accurate information to ensure that they are contactable should they be winners. |
